6-week Class Mastering Oils: Renaissance Glazing

Wednesdays 6-9p July 24th - Aug 28th

 

This class teaches how to use oil paint as it was originally intended: through the subtle buildup of layers of translucent and semi-opaque layers using a combination of mediums. We will specifically progress through a glazing technique reminiscent of the Early & High Renaissance, from preparing the canvas surface properly to completion. This is a class of greatest benefit to painters with strong drawing skills and painting experience already.

 

6-week Class Grisaille Approach to Underpainting

Thursdays 6-9p July 25th - Aug 29th

 

This class teaches how to structure a painting using the grisaille approach. The grisaille is an opaque, monochrome underpainting that lays the foundation for the application of color in translucent layers afterwards. This is a class of greatest benefit to painters with some skill and experience already.
